Dinner on the Harbor

After the excitement of arrival, we all walked down to Heikendorf harbor to eat our evening meal on one of the floating restaurants.

I got to eat Matjesfilet, which as you can see, is pickled herring in a cream sauce with apples and onions, side salad and bratkartoffeln (fried potatoes, but not deep-fried in the french manner). I didn't know it was pickled herring at the time, or I would probably not have ordered it. Good thing! Lecker, lecker, lecker!

Haus Über Dem Strand

Haus Über Dem Stand (hueds.de) at the end of Am Heidberg. Our Uncle Matthias and Anne renovated the right half into three vacation flats, and my family stayed in all three of them over the course of our vacation.
